The type C switchboard shunts have an insulating base and can be mounted on conductive surfaces. Available in ranges of 1 Ampere through 500 Amperes with a 50mV output and 1 Ampere through 500 Ampere with a 100mV output, the type C is designed for power cable hook-up or bus-bar mount utilizing the 3/8-16 brass SEMS screws with a captive split-lockwasher and flat washer. This popular design is available without the insulating base if desired. Low Amperage models are furnished with a protective cover to prevent damage to the Manganin element.
Note:
For continuous operation, it is recommended that shunts not run at more than two thirds (2/3) the rated current under normal conditions of use as per AIEEE standards.
